The best thing about trying to start a hot shot trucking business is that you will really enjoy getting it set up. The best thing about trying to start a hot shot trucking business is that people in this line of work usually use vehicles that are smaller than the semi-trailers; semi-trailers are the ones that use those really huge heavy-duty 4x4s especially for freights. All this means is that trying to start a hot shot trucking businesswould fetch easier and more hassle-free contracts. It also means that the ride is a lot smoother and the vehicle takes up much less space.

The first thing to do when you want to start a hot shot trucking business is to figure out who you would want to haul for. The easiest way to make money when you begin your own company is to lease yourself and your rig to another company in your line of work. These bigger companies would find all the work for you and would even take care of the collections due as well as any extra bills. Even if you want to start a hot shot trucking business that is your own, doing this for another company is the easiest way to save up capital and gain experience at the same time. Over time you might see that it might just be better to work for someone else than to start a hot shot trucking businessof your own- there is less hassle involved and less headaches. However, you would not have the potential to expand your company yourself and you would not be able to keep 100% of all the profits- you would usually only be able to keep 80% for whatever job you’ve done, which is still good enough.

First, you would have to send your application to the terminal manager of the company you wish to work for. Once you get accepted, and you most probably will be, you will be asked to do a medical exam. Once this is done, it’s time to buy your rig and your ride. It’s better to pick one that is to their specifications because these are the specs that would be perfect for most of the jobs that you would be doing while working and when you start a hot shot trucking business. Lastly, you would need to get your rig and ride inspected by the DOT-the Department of Transport. They will issue you stickers that indicate that your vehicle is ready for the job.

This is when you begin working for the company. They will send you on different jobs with tons of different requirements. This will allow you to gather up all the experience you can before you start a hot shot trucking business. Once you believe that you have saved enough capital, you can finally register with the town clerk under a new company. It is easy to start a hot shot trucking business, but what to do prior to that is not commonplace information.

I find little good info. It doesn't say anything about regester your name with the county clerk, DOT permits, insurance, ect... Personally, remove this page so other people don't waist there time like I did!
